The combination was effective in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (Kajander, Hatakka, Poussa, Färkkilä, & Korpela, 2005); it alleviated adverse symptoms and stabilised the microbiota during Helicobacter pylori eradication treatment (Myllyluoma et al, 2005(Myllyluoma et al, , 2007a. Two strains in this probiotic combination are of human origin: L. rhamnosus GG, which has widely documented beneficial health effects (Doron, Snydman, & Gorbach, 2005), and B. breve 99 isolated from a healthy baby.…”
