Effects of Anthropogenic Activity on Stream Water Quality in Langsa, Aceh

Abstract: Increased human activity towards the water bodies will change the condition of water quality. Case study in Langsa, Aceh, It was found that an increase in Some physical parameter (TSS) that exceeds the value determined in PP 82 of 2001 (Indonesian government standard). The high value of TSS in Station 2 and Station 3 indicates that the sediment loading to the water body is high, especially in Station 3, where the TSS concentrations far exceed the standard. Activity of type C surface mining materials tends to a… Show more

“…The species richness will decrease when mangrove area experiencing disturbance, such as Segara Anakan Lagoon (Cilacap, Central Java), only three species were found (Zurochman 2003), this is suspected due to the environmental condition in Kuala Langsa and Selangor are relatively better than the Segara Anakan Lagoon, which has experienced a decrease in environmental quality caused by sedimentation and pollution. Highly disturbance and water quality decrease in a particular area can make some benthic fauna challenging to find (Akbar et al 2018). A large number of prawn species found at the study location is also very dependent on the survival of their juveniles.…”

“…mining activity, agriculture, deforestation, tourism) can adversely affect the surrounding waters, whether it's in the river or in the coastal waters. Evidence of bad influence from anthropogenic activity was reported by several studies (Akbar et al, 2015;Zamdial et al, 2017;Akbar et al, 2018;Putra et al, 2018).…”
