Effects of an educational playful intervention on nasal hygiene behaviors of preschoolers: a quasi-experimental study
Abstract: Background: To determine the effects of an educational playful intervention on nasal hygiene behaviors among preschool (3-4 years old) children. Methods: A quasi-experimental before-after study was conducted with 39 children attending public daycare center in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The ability to recognize the concept of early numbers in early childhood is very important to develop so that children are ready to take part in learning mathematics at a higher level. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematics learning approaches and self-regulation to recognize the concept of early numbers ability in kindergarten. The study used an experimental method with a treatment design by level 2x2. The sample used was 32 children. Score data, ability to recognize number concepts, analyzed and interpreted. The results showed that: (1) The Realistic Mathematics Education approach is better than the Open Ended Approach in improving the ability to recognize children's number concepts; (2) There is an interaction effect between mathematics learning approaches and Self-Regulation to recognize the concept of early numbers ability; (3) The Realistic Mathematics Education approach is more suitable for children with high self-regulation, (4) The Open Ended approach is more suitable for children with low self-regulation. Subsequent experiments are expected to find mathematics learning approaches for children whose self-regulation is low on recognizing the concept of early numbers ability. The ability to recognize the concept of early numbers in early childhood is very important to develop so that children are ready to take part in learning mathematics at a higher level. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematics learning approaches and self-regulation to recognize the concept of early numbers ability in kindergarten. The study used an experimental method with a treatment design by level 2x2. The sample used was 32 children. Score data, ability to recognize number concepts, analyzed and interpreted. The results showed that: (1) The Realistic Mathematics Education approach is better than the Open Ended Approach in improving the ability to recognize children's number concepts; (2) There is an interaction effect between mathematics learning approaches and Self-Regulation to recognize the concept of early numbers ability; (3) The Realistic Mathematics Education approach is more suitable for children with high self-regulation, (4) The Open Ended approach is more suitable for children with low self-regulation. Subsequent experiments are expected to find mathematics learning approaches for children whose self-regulation is low on recognizing the concept of early numbers ability. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as produções científicas voltadas para os jogos educativos que são utilizados para pacientes e familiares na educação em saúde. Os jogos educativos em saúde podem ser aplicados em diversas situações segundo a literatura, podendo ser utilizado como um recurso pedagógico e facilitando o processo de ensino dos profissionais de saúde. Este estudo é baseado na pesquisa bibliográfica tendo como base a revisão integrativa com o intuito de obter uma avaliação crítica da produção como estratégia para a síntese dos dados para o estudo. Analisando através desta amostra de 17 artigos, selecionados a partir dos critérios traçados, o número de publicações por ano em que foram publicadas temos: 2019 apresentando 07 publicações (41,1%), seguindo do ano de 2018 com 06 estudos (35,2%), 2020 com 03 (17,6%) e 2017 com 01(5,8%). Portanto pode-se concluir que o ano em que mais se publicou sobre a temática foi o ano de 2018 com 29,54% dos estudos. Com este estudo, concluiu-se que embora os jogos sejam ferramentas de grande utilidade na área da educação em saúde ainda há a necessidade de um maior aprofundamento nos estudos acerca do tema.
Background: Over the years, there has been an increasing and effective integration and participation of oral health in the concept of general health. The absence of educational interventions, and behavioral strategies for children´s oral health are still considered gaps in today's society. The main objective of this work was to define strategies of educational interventions in children's oral health. Methods: The intervention for the “Ser Criança” Program involved the development of a website - “Ser Criança – Aprender a Sorrir” (A Child - Learn to Smile) for three target groups: children, parents and educators / teachers. With this proposition, it is expected that children, families, and school communities improve behavioral habits related to oral health. Also, the “Ser Criança” Program involves a specific protocol defining oral health literacy strategies and dental appointments among the children and families. Results: The “Ser Criança” Program involves a specific protocol defining oral health literacy strategies and dental appointments for children and families. It is crucial to emphasize that most recreational activities are beneficial in the transmission of motivational values. The use of educational games, exploration of macro dental models, theatre and music are valid examples of these activities. Interventions based on digital media (applications or "apps" and the Internet) also prove to be a constant demonstration of success for children's personal and cognitive growth. Aiming on a digital tool for pre-school and elementary school children, through a web-based platform allows, especially amongst the hard-to-reach communities, an immeasurable access to multiple possibilities. Conclusions: Educating future generations using attractive educational, didactic and, above all pedagogical interventions can greatly improve health interventions, especially in the field of dental medicine.
