Abstract: The Alpha-Tocopherol Beta-Carotene (ATBC) Cancer Prevention Study was a placebo-controlled, randomized intervention trial testing the hypothesis that beta-carotene and alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) supplements prevent lung and other cancers.
