“…A major difficulty lies in the interaction between metal and metal oxide support that affects both components simultaneously. According to previous studies, the metal function is closely correlated to metal nature, particle size, and oxidation state, while the acid–base and redox properties strongly dictate the function of metal oxide support. Furthermore, the influencing factors are multiplied when taking the MSI in account, making it almost impossible to determine the real origin of a particular reaction behavior.
