“…In the phytochemical study, the ethanolic extract of flowers and leaves presented similar secondary metabolites. The secondary metabolites determined in the present study are related to the results reported by Enciso et al 8 In the in vitro antioxidant capacity assay against the DPPH radical, the ethanolic of flower extract had a high antioxidant capacity than the leaf extract, which shows that the in vitro antioxidant activity, however the extracts did not exceed the standard antioxidant Trolox. Since the most representative metabolite are triterpenes and steroids, according to Jain et al, 10 polyphenols are also recognized for their property as free radical scavengers due to their property of donating electrons, their antioxidant activity depends on the stability of different systems as well as on the number and the location of hydroxyl groups.…”

“…Traditionally is used for digestive problems such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and other like migraine and mountain disease. 8 The extract of this plant has revealed the presence of sesquiterpene lactone like parthenolides and various phenolic compounds. The main metabolite isolated in T. parthenium named parthenolide presented analgesic effect after sciatic nerve injury.…”

“…Although some authors have reported [ 51 , 52 , 53 ] that large doses of essential oil induce convulsions, there has been no systematic evaluation of the toxic effects of T. parthenium . Our investigation showed that the essential oil of the Bulgarian population of Tanacetum parthenium is nontoxic when administered to rats as a single oral dose and moderately toxic when administered as a single dose via the intraperitoneal route.…”

“…The sheets were assembled with coverslips and Entellan ® (Sigma Chemical Co, St. Louis, MO, USA), which is a rapid non-aqueous mounting medium. Finally, the organ slides were examined microscopically and photographed with an optical microscope Nikon Eclipse E200 (Shinagawa Intercity Tower C, 2-15-3, Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo 108-6290, Japan) at 40× and 200× magnification [14].…”
