Abstract:We report a theoretical study on the effects of an external magnetic field on the electronic and optical properties of mono- and bi-layer MoS, and bilayer MoS/WS heterostructures. The direction of an applied magnetic field determines (i) the strength of the coupling between the atomic orbital moments of the structure and the field, and (ii) Zeeman contribution to the splitting of the VB and CB levels with the amplitude of the applied field. Whereas for a magnetic field applied perpendicular to the structure, c… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
