Abstract: These days, there are substantial number of papers published on the effects of meditation-based programs adapted for westerners involving different practices oriented toward mental and physical health. In another study evaluating a group of participants who have been practicing meditation for more than 1 year, their mean before a meditation retreat was 55.7 ± 11.08 and after that 63.6 ± 8.27 (28).
