Effects of 99mTc-TRODAT-1 drug template on image quantitative analysis

Abstract: 99mTc-TRODAT-1 is a type of drug that can bind to dopamine transporters in living organisms and is often used in SPCT imaging for observation of changes in the activity uptake of dopamine in the striatum. Therefore, it is currently widely used in studies on clinical diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and movement-related disorders. In conventional 99mTc-TRODAT-1 SPECT image evaluation, visual inspection or manual selection of ROI for semiquantitative analysis is mainly used to observe and evaluate the degre… Show more

“…We calculated the specific uptake ratio to represent DAT availability in four regions of interest (bilateral CN and putamen), with the occipital lobe as the reference region. An automated semiquantitative software validated for 99mTc-TRODAT images was used for quantification (Wu et al, 2018a). The asymmetry index (AI) of DAT availability was defined as (right − left)/(right + left) (Hsiao et al, 2003; Laakso et al, 2000).…”

“…99m Tc-TRODAT-1 TRODAT-1, a 99m Tc-labeled tropane derivative, is a cocaine analogous that can attach to the dopamine transporter (DAT) sites at presynaptic neuron membrane which is beneficial as a potential CNS dopamine transporter imaging agent and can be labeled with 99m Tc without difficulty in most nuclear medicine departments all over the world [106].…”
