Effects of 17α-Methyltestosterone on Growth and Induced Sex Change in Longtooth Grouper Epinephelus bruneus (Bloch)

Abstract: We examined the effects of 17α-methyltestosterone (MT) on growth and induced sex change in the longtooth grouper Epinephelus bruneus. The growth rate for body weight (GRW) and specific growth rate (SGR) of the group injected with MT over 8 weeks were significantly higher than those of the sham-injected control group, the group injected over 4 weeks, and the control group.
