Effects caused by water-soluble chitosans with high molecular weight in bacterial and mammal membrane models using Langmuir monolayers

Abstract

I would like to thank everyone and everything that directly or indirectly influenced me and helped me to complete my doctorate studies: family, friends, professors, boyfriend, colleagues, collaborators, people that inspires me, the institute, the institute's library and librarians, the university, funding agencies, dance and arts in general… In especial, I would like to thank my advisor, who is of an immense knowledge and very supportive. Plus, revises your work as fast and soon as one can imagine. Thank you! In addition, I would like to thank Thaty, who was the first to advise me and believe in me, and who taught me almost everything, and Andressa, who started the studies with the class of chitosans I used in this work, and helped me a lot! Above all, I would like to thank science and, further, scientists, especially Brazilian. I finished my studies in a scenario of Covid-19 pandemics (thankfully, now in a more controlled phase), a growing scenario of budget cuts to science and education and denialism. Thanks to the scientific community, we could get vaccines, press the authorities to maintain the financial support (part of it at least, continuously) and can fight against misleading information. We are going down a dreadful path, and I sincerely and profoundly hope that we can overcome this.We as a nation, we as humanity. My deep gratitude to the scientific community.
