Abstract: Background: Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is an infection by the tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) with symptoms of central nervous system inflammation. TBE is endemic in Latvia and other parts of Europe. TBE vaccination is recommended for children in Latvia.
