Abstract: The species Cissampelos sympodialis Eichl. (CsE) is popularly used for its anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator and anti-allergiceffects. In preclinical studies, the plant has shown anxiolytic and antidepressant properties, which necessitated a controlledclinical trial to verify its effects in humans.
