“…Each of these studies used an intensive training intervention that included: (a) proper injection technique, (b) accurate site rotation to non‐LH sites to enable safer correct rotation and (c) switching to a 4 mm pen needle to reduce the size of LH. Reduction in the frequency of injections into LH sites, performing the ideal injection technique, not reusing needle and using 4 mm pen needle were reported among the patients following an educational/training intervention 28,29,33,34 . Moreover, by correctly rotating their injection sites, patients reduced their total daily insulin dosage and average A1C 28,33 .…”

“…Moreover, 100% of participants in the intervention group reported changing to 4 mm pen needles after exposure to an instructional video about insulin self‐administration 33 . Effective insulin self‐administration was guided by the demonstration and redemonstration of correct procedures 34 . The teach‐back method was effective in improving the knowledge and skills of participants in the interventional group.…”

“…This locally adapted module with user-friendly instruments helped diabetic patients to absorb the information and thus resulted in a better understanding of it [14,40,41]. On top of that, the intervention session was conducted face-to-face between the researcher and the patients, which further enhanced the two-way communication [14,21,42]. This would explain the increment in the knowledge level of participants in this study.…”
