Effectiveness of improved Fourier-Fick laws in a stratified non-Newtonian fluid with variable fluid characteristics

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of improved Fourier–Fick laws subjected to variable fluid characteristics. Flow analysis in the stagnation region of Oldroyd-B fluid is elaborated. Heat generation is present. Design/methodology/approach Optimal homotopy analysis method is used to obtain convergent solutions. Findings The outcomes reveal reduction in penetration depths of temperature and concentration due to involvement of thermal and solutal relaxation times of fluxes. Origin… Show more

“…Here, homotopic algorithm (Liao, 2003;Hayat et al, 2014;Hayat et al, 2016b;Waqas et al, 2019c;Waqas et al, 2019d) is used to compute nonlinear equations ( 7)-( 9) subjected to equations ( 10) and ( 11). HAM comprises h f ; h u and h f , which are effective in regulating and adjusting the convergent region regarding homotopic expressions.…”

“…Partial systems are reduced to ordinary ones via suitable variables. Convergent solutions are achieved using HAM (Liao, 2003;Hayat et al, 2014;Hayat et al, 2016b;Waqas et al, 2019c;Waqas et al, 2019d). The upshots of sundry factors are demonstrated and addressed in detail.…”

“…Shankar and Naduvinamani 48 numerically examined the characteristics of the CC model on an MHD Casson fluid flow with thermal radiation between two parallel plates. Waqas et al 49 addressed the impact of the CC model on a stratified Oldroyd-B fluid flow past an elongated sheet. Khan et al 50 focused on Carreau nanofluid flow with the CC model over a paraboloid surface of revolution.…”
