Effectiveness of gromwell ( Lithospermum erythrorhizon ) oil in the treatment of toxic epidermal necrolysis in a patient with dermatomyositis

Abstract

Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), a delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction, is the most severe form of severe cutaneous adverse reactions. 1 Patients with TEN often have skin infections covering large areas of exposed skin. Although causative drug withdrawal and supportive care can halt disease progression, how to promote the early recovery of skin lesions is still a challenge in clinical care.
