Effectiveness of Cross-Linked Acellular Dermal Matrix to Correct Post-Traumatic Enophthalmos

Abstract: Giant lipoma rarely occurs in the head and neck area, and all lipomas of larger dimensions, especially on the neck, should be surgically removed due to functional and esthetic problems. Preoperatively, it is very important to perform CT or nuclear magnetic resonance diagnostics, whereas in cases where it is necessary to rule out malignancy, a biopsy is indicated. During tumor extirpation, it must be taken into account the neurovascular structures of the neck to avoid possible functional and aesthetic complicat… Show more

“…Various materials are available to reconstruct the orbital fractures. Titanium-reinforced porous polyethylene plates, 3,6,7 artificial dermal matrix, 9–11 resorbable magnesium biomaterials, 12 PDS foils and titanium meshes, 13 and absorbable plates 14 . Regardless of their pros and cons, each has its own best indications.…”

“…There are different materials available for reconstructing the orbital wall after a blowout fracture, but based on our experience, titanium-reinforced porous polyethylene (TR-PPE) plate has the strongest qualities [11][12][13][14]. If the inferomedial wall fracture is severe, additional materials may be used in combination, but the primary reconstruction should always be done with a rigid and fixable material.…”

“…ADM is a three-dimensional extracellular matrix framework derived from the skin that serves as a reparative material. Although initially used in patients with severe burns, ADM has recently gained widespread application across various clinical fields including plastic surgery, breast surgery, head and neck surgery, otolaryngology, urology, oral surgery abdominal wall reconstruction gynecology and ophthalmology (71)(72)(73)(74)(75)(76)(77). ADM has gradually become a popular choice for urethral repair and reconstruction in tissue engineering.…”
