Abstract: Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is a serious health issue that develops in hospitalized patients. The number of CAUTI cases could be reduced by preventing microbial adhesion and biofilm formation. Chitosan demonstrates antimicrobial activity against a variety of microorganisms.
