Abstract:The SCERTS (social communication, emotional regulation, and transactional support) model is an evidence-based multidisciplinary educational approach developed by a team of professionals trained in different disciplines (Prizant et al. 2003). The model focuses on addressing the core challenges faced by children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families by enhancing competence in social communication, emotional regulation, and transactional support.
