The objective of this study is to assess and compare the effect of applying a computerised cognitive training programme and virtual environment rehabilitation system on cognitive functions in patients after a stroke. Methods. A controlled trial included 121 persons referred to second stage rehabilitation. The subjects were differentiated into three impact groups by a single blinded trial. Results. The trial revealed that cognitive functions improved in all patient groups (p<0.001). A paired comparison analysis of all groups demonstrated a tendency for cognitive functions, evaluated by the MoCA–LT test, to be more strongly improved in patients who practised a computerised cognitive training programme during their OT sessions than those who did not (p=0.054). Conclusions. The final outcome of the trial was that cognitive functions significantly improved in patients who practised computerised cognitive training programmes or virtual environment rehabilitation systems, compared to those participants who only had occupational therapy sessions.

Vaikams vis dažniau nustatomas mišrus raidos sutrikimas. Sutrinka pažintinės funkcijos, kalba, smulkioji ir stambioji motorika, erdvinis mąstymas, trumpalaikė atmintis. Iki šiol neaišku, koks gydymas yra efektyviausias. Tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti ir įvertinti aerobinių pratimų poveikį vaikų pažintinėms funkcijoms, pusiausvyrai ir koordinacijai, esant mišriam raidos sutrikimui. Tyrime dalyvavo 30 vaikų. Tiriamieji atsitiktinės atrankos būdu buvo suskirstyti į dvi grupes: kontrolinę (n=15) ir tiriamąją (n=15). Tiriamajai grupei taikytas aerobinis krūvis (20 min.) ir įprastinė kineziterapija (35 min.) 4 savaites, 5 kartus per savaitę. Kontrolinė grupė atliko tik įprastinius 35 min. trukmės kineziterapijos pratimus. Tiriamieji buvo testuojami prieš ir po tyrimo. Pažintinėms funkcijoms vertinti buvo naudojama RechaCom sistema, pusiausvyrai – Berg skalė, o koordinacijai – akies ir rankos koordinacijos užduotis. Rezultatai. Nustatyta, kad esant mišriam vaiko raidos sutrikimui, 4 savaičių aerobinis krūvis gali būti efektyvi priemonė pagerinti pusiausvyrą ir akies – rankos koordinaciją, pagerinti darbinės atminties reakcijos laiką, dėmesio išlaikymą (p < 0,05), tačiau jis nedaro poveikio susikaupimui.

However, an analysis of the advanced experience indicates the most researchers to use a psychological rehabilitation only during the late recovery and residual periods noting the high efficiency of rehabilitation measures directed at psychological development; the main attention is focused on the motor programs that stimulate the neuronal activity in the brain [14][15][16]. The experience of the Chinese scientists in combating the consequences of stroke allows to note the increased focus on the inclusion of nontraditional techniques combined with various drugs in the rehabilitation program.…”

If the appropriate combined measures are not taken to treat the manifestations of cognitive disorders, they have a tendency to progress towards worsening over time in the patients with CVA. The most common cognitive dysfunctions are as follows: disorders of attention, thinking, memory and executive functions. More and more studies are focused on the application of the various methods and techniques for neurorehabilitation of these disorders. Evaluation of the effect of adding the neurorehabilitation techniques in the treatment program in the early recovery period was a part of the objectives of this study. The sample consisted of 70 people with CVA. The study was carried out in the hospital environment. During 10 days, the standard scheme of the drug treatment was supplemented with the neurorehabilitation method using the "Brain jogging" technique and group work techniques in the experimental group. A battery of the psychodiagnostic tests was used, which included the "MMSE Scale" test, Pieron-Ruser test, Ebbinghaus test, and "10-word memorization" technique (according to A.R. Luria). Based on the study results, the features of the dynamics of recovery in the patients with CVA of indicators of cognitive functions are described due to the inclusion of psycho-gymnastic techniques in the rehabilitation program.
