“…The 10% Ni/CaTiO 3 catalyst exhibited CO and CO 2 methanation activity superior to 10% Ni/Al 2 O 3 , due to the perovskite oxide's exceptional stability, increased support basicity and the limited interaction between Ni particles and the CaTiO 3 support. Do et al [84] used Ca as a promoter in order to substitute part of the A-site cations in the NiTiO 3 lattice and the whole perovskite was loaded on γ-Al 2 O 3 . They performed extensive characterizations on the composite materials and concluded that upon 5% molar substitution of Ni 2+ with Ca 2+ , the catalytic activity could be maximized.…”

“…These modifications led to a reaction mechanism with formate species as intermediates (no CO) accompanied by a remarkable decrease of the activation energy. Do et al [91] studied the effect of Ca incorporation (0, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0, 7.0 and 10.0 %mol) to perovskite NiTiO 3 (containing ~11 wt% Ni) loaded by impregnation on γ-Al 2 O 3 . Ca incorporation favored the nickel dispersion, boosted the CO 2 adsorption capacity and improved the textural properties, which resulted not only in a remarkable increase of the performances but also in a significant stability under reaction conditions for 10 days.…”

“…An optimum Mg loading is also found for Ni on different supports [ 25 , 26 , 28 ]. The claimed benefits are not only the increased basicity and CO 2 chemisorption [ 25 , 29 , 30 ] but also the enhancement of Ni dispersion and resistance to sintering [ 28 ] and the creation of oxygen vacancies on the support [ 31 , 32 ].…”
