Effective quark antiquark potential in the quark gluon plasma from gravity dual models

Abstract: We estimate the effective heavy quark and antiquark potential in the quark gluon plasma using the gravity dual theory. Two models are considered: AdS 5 and Sakai-Sugimoto model. The effective potential, obtained by using the rotating fundamental open-string configurations, has the angular momentum dependence which generalizes the static central potential. For zero angular momentum case, we obtain asymptotic form of the potential for general metric n, and for both gravity dual models where n = 3, 4. The mass de… Show more

“…The effect of higher derivative corrections on the real part of the potential within the gauge/gravity duality has been done in [31,32] and it was found that the dissociation length becomes shorter with the increase of the coupling parameters of the higher curvature terms. The rotating heavy quarkonium also is studied in [33,34,35,47].…”

“…The motion of a quark-antiquark pair through N = 4 plasma has been discussed in [23,24,25]. Several studies of rotating mesons and their related properties have been done in [26,27,28,29] by means of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In [30] rotation of a heavy test quark has been considered.…”

“…It is shown that by increasing the spin of heavy meson, the dissociation length also increases which confirms our expectation. This subject was also studied in [16,18,25]. Here, we discuss the inter-quark distance in the presence of the chemical potential.…”
