Abstract:The paper refers to the second-order spin-hamiltonian formalism, recently proposed by the author, describing the EPR properties of an exchange-coupled pair of orbitally not degenerate ions in the limit of strong isotropic exchange (higher-order effects such as biquadratic exchange or exchange striction are considered neglectable). Tables of numerical values for the relevant coefficients involved are given. This allows to write immediately the effective spin operators spanning each total spin multiplet which ar… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
