Effect of Woods-Saxon Wave Functions on the Calculation ofA=18, 206, 210Spectra with a Realistic Interaction

Abstract: The superscripts C, LS, and T designate the static central, spin-orbit, and tensor parts of the potential. The operators 1*S and Su are the usual spin-orbit and tensor operators. We have written U BE (r, p 2 ) =nr 1 Lp 2 Vs*?(r) + Vs*?(r)p*], Uso and UTE being similarly denned. The symbol m denotes the nucleon mass, r is the relative coordinate | r 3 -r 2 1, and p is the relative momentum \ | pi-p 2 1. The superscript P indicates that the radial form factor is part of the momentum or velocity-dependent potenti… Show more

“…The effective interactions consist of three parts: (a) the USD interaction two-body matrix elements (TBME) for the proton-proton interaction, (b) the KB interaction TBME for the neutron-neutron interaction, and (c) the (parametrized) G-matrix interaction from Ref. [32] for the proton-neutron interaction. The monopole part of the interaction was empirically modified to provide a satisfactory description of the evolution of the effective single-particle energies across a broad region of nuclei.…”

“…[14]. This interaction contains three parts: the USD interaction for the sd-shell [3], the KB' matrix elements for the pf shell [15] and the G-matrix of Kahana, Lee and Scott for the cross-shell matrix elements [16]. The f 7/2 d 3/2 , f 7/2 s 1/2 , p 3/2 s 1/2 and p 3/2 d 3/2 monopole terms have been adjusted to some recent experimental data [14].…”

“…The 0 þ 2 state in 34 Si has been populated at the GANIL-LISE3 facility through the decay of a newly discovered 1 þ isomer in 34 Al of 26(1) ms half-life. The simultaneous detection of e þ e À pairs allowed the determination of the excitation energy Eð0 þ 2 Þ ¼ 2719ð3Þ keV and the half-life T 1=2 ¼ 19:4ð7Þ ns, from which an electric monopole strength of 2 ðE0Þ ¼ 13:0ð0:9Þ Â 10 À3 was deduced.…”
