The article discusses the operational and financial relationships among the channel members of a supply chain comprising of a manufacturing company and a distributor. This research simulates the financial system that enables a more accurate diagnosis of disaggregated metrics “Cash to Cash”, considering different interactions between material flow and the financial flow of the two links, manufacturer and distributor. This model considers the feedback loops between material flow models and financial models without which some interactions are lost during simulation. The proposed diagnostic method which incorporates an eclectic process re-engineering practices and state of the art of dynamic simulation with the implementation of advanced techniques of sensitivity and dynamic optimization models those are applied on the concept of stocks and flows. This methodology is used in order to analyze and improve business strategies by generating policies which help to improve cash flow of the company. To validate our model, a case study illustrating the improvement of different metrics of the supply chain is considered here. The results show that the companies have to invest in technology in order to generated strategic decision to enhance their financial metrics.

Sustainability Analysis of Supply Chains with Fashion Products under Alternative Power Structures and Loss-Averse Supplier

Considering a supply chain with fashion products comprising of a supplier and a retailer, we study the sustainability of the supply chain with alternative power structures (either the supplier or the retailer has the option of acting as a leader to make the decisions first). We also examine the impact of the supplier's attitudes to loss on the supply chain's sustainability and profitability. We build game theoretical modes to characterize one property of the fashion industry: the wide use of buy-back contract, and obtain the following results: (1) Compared to wholesale price contract, buy-back contract reduces the sustainability of the supply chain, and this result is robust with alternative power structures. (2) Under alternative power structure, the sustainability index is increasing in the buy-back price in the supplier-as-the-leader scenario, while decreasing in the retailer-as-the-leader scenario. That is, the relationships between sustainability and buy-back price is completely reversed when the leader is changed. (3) The sustainability is improved when the supplier acts as the leader and the buy-back price is lower than a threshold, but the contrary holds when the buy-back price is high. (4) Buy-back contract helps to improve the sustainability of the supply chain when supplier is extremely loss-averse, because the loss-averse supplier has the incentives to reduce the ordering quantity as well as the overstocking risk.

In today's competitive business markets, a revenue optimization method is always one of the most crucial issues ahead of commercial supply chains so that it is utilized by the managers to improve their profitability. On the other hand, enhancing coordination and collaboration between the chains' members has taken a vital role in increasing their efficiency and profitability. Thus, managers tend to employ/design marketing and coordinating incentive mechanisms using the revenue optimization method, as the most influential tools, to motivate the purchasers to order more and subsequently increase their market share. Here, this issue is studied in a two-echelon supply chain by designing incentive contracts in order to evaluate the profit of organizations and enterprises and assess the best contract, which causes the highest profit, as the main goal of the businesses. In this study, a pricing-inventory model is developed for a single-item two-echelon supply chain consisting of a manufacturer and a retailer in the presence of three different scenarios. In the first scenario, a credit payment (delay-in-payment) contract is considered between the chain members. In the second scenario, we studied a market segmentation policy in which the market demand is divided into price and quality oriented customers' demand while a quantity discount contract is assumed as the third one. The profit of supply chain under these new conditions is computed by some numerical examples and then the effects of cost parameters on the decision variables and the profit are analyzed.
