Effect of Using of Reclaimed Asphalt and/or Lower Temperature Asphalt on the Availability of the Road Network

Abstract: There is a need for a method for assessing the results from changes in the potential durability of road materials due to the inclusion of reclaimed and secondary component materials in the manufacture of new road materials. Such changes will have an effect on the cost of the construction maintenance, both financially to the client and environmentally to society in general, and any savings may be transitory. A site trial has been laid of mixtures with and without reclaimed asphalt and work started to assess the… Show more

“…To emphasizing improvement, on accentuating development in the current era, reusing for asphalt is one of the effective , also proven restoration procedures, (Shunyashree et al, 2013). Such changes will affect the cost of the structure maintenance, both economically to the client and naturally to society in wide-ranging and any investment might be transitory, (Nichollsa et al, 2014). In latest years, attitudes to the environment have changed significantly, and preservation of assets has become an extremely important issue, hence and because of the expanded demand, limited aggregate and binder supply.…”

“…This chemical transformation is usually reflected in the population of chemical groups at the molecular level. 6 Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) can be used to obtain infrared spectra corresponding to vibrations of various chemical groups, allowing them to be characterized qualitatively. 7 The oxidation (aging) of bitumen can be observed by monitoring changes in absorbances of carbonyl (CO around 1700 cm −1 ) and sulfoxide SO (around 1030 cm −1 ) groups.…”

“…The binder in RAP is chemically transformed, notably as a result of oxidation, as it ages during service in the field. This chemical transformation is usually reflected in the population of chemical groups at the molecular level .
