Effect of ultrafine kaolinite particles on the flotation behavior of coking coal

Abstract: Kaolinite, as a mineral in fine coal, has an important influence on the flotation of coal particles. In this study, the effects of ultrafine kaolinite particles on the flotation recovery of coal particles were investigated. Flotation tests were carried out using a mixture of coal particles and different amounts of ultrafine kaolinite particles. Combined with the Stefan-Reynold theory, the effect of liquid film drainage rate between coal bubbles in a kaolinite suspension was calculated. The yield of flotation c… Show more

“…When applied in low-rank coal reprocessing, separation performance deteriorates due to the inherent characteristics of low-rank coal: high surface roughness and oxygen content . Ultrafine particle size is also an important factor constraining the floatability of low-rank coal. As a rule, surface regulation methods are customarily employed for the betterment of low-rank coal flotation performance . Surface regulation is typically achieved with the aid of surfactants and regulators, which have attained noticeable industrial applications lately …”

“…In accordance with this method, the shearer is applied to cut the rock from the coal seam, and different temperatures are reached. An infrared temperature sensor with high sensitivity is then adopted to detect and explore the temperature of the shearer's pick, which means to determine whether it is a coal seam or a rock layer (Markham et al 1990;Li et al 2020). Wang et al (2021) proposed an identification method for coal and rock interfaces that is based on the integration of information gained by multisensors.…”
