Effect of Ti-Doping on Different Morphologic LiCoO₂

Abstract

TheeffectofTi鄄dopingondifferentmorphologicLiCoO 2 wascharacterizedbyscanningelectron microscope(SEM)alongwithenergydispersivespectroscopy(EDS),X 鄄 raydiffraction(XRD),electrochemical impedancespectroscopy(EIS),andgalvanostaticcharge鄄dischargetests.TheresultindicatedthatTi鄄dopingdidnot affectthestructureofdifferentmorphologicLiCoO 2 butconsiderablyimproveditselectrochemicalperformance, especiallythebehavioroflargecurrentdischarge(1 C).Inthecaseofbeingdischargedata1Cdischargerate,3.8V voltageplateau(theratioofcapacityabove3.8Vtototalcapacity)ofsecondaryparticlesdopedwithTiO 2 couldretain 60%after20cycles,whichwasbetterthanprimaryparticlesdopedwithTiO 2 (40%).EISresultshowedthatTi鄄doping couldevidentlysuppresstheincreaseoftheelectrochemicalreactionresistantatlargecurrentdischargeratefor secondaryparticles.
