Effect of Thermal History on Hot Workability of Fe–Cr Multiphase Steel during Hot Working

Abstract: In the hot working of multiphase steels, the thermal history before hot working affects the phase balance. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the thermal history immediately before hot working on hot workability by performing hot uniaxial tensile tests. Duplex stainless steel was chosen as the test material, as this material has a typical dual-phase structure consisting of ¤ ferrite and austenite, and its phase balance changes with the working temperature. The phase ratio of ¤ ferrite is hig… Show more

“…Articles of 10-20 are annually published through JSTP in Materials Transactions: for example, 16 articles in 2021-2022. 4,5,[94][95][96][97][98][99][100][101][102][103][104][105][106][107] The awarded paper of Takahashi et al 1,60) through JILM is concerned with measurements of interdiffusion and impuritydiffusion coefficients in multicomponent Ti alloys, which are fundamental quantities to understand phenomena occurring at elevated temperatures. Indeed, comprehensive study was presented on the Ti-Al-Zr ternary system following their earlier studies on the Ti-Al-X (X = V, Cr, Fe, Co) ternary systems.…”

“…However, billets are susceptible to cracking and other issues during this process. To avoid these shortcomings, the influence of hot-forming parameters on the hot deformation behavior and mechanism should be systematically studied [ 10 ].…”
