Effect of the structure of the pore space on the mechanical properties of highly porous materials produced with pore-forming agents

Abstract: 621.762Correlation between the mechanical properties of porous materials obtained with use of a pore-forming agent, and the pore structures has been studied. It was shown that the larger the pores, the higher the bending strength and elastic modulus. The curve of mechanica properties versus porosity is S-shaped. A theoretical equation has been derived for this curve.
