Abstract:The effect of a change in the size of a flat-bottom hole on the level of a bottom signal measured with a normal probe at an end surface of a cylindrical specimen is considered. It is shown that this effect depends on the specimen's radius-to-length ratio. It is established that the difference in the levels of a bottom signal and a signal from a hole in the specimen is in good agreement (within 0.5 dB) with the corresponding difference obtained from the calculated DGS diagram.During ultrasonic inspection of for… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
