“…TiO 2 nanotube electrodes were obtained by anodizing commercially pure titanium foil. , The titanium samples were etched in hot HCl, roughening successively with silicon carbide paper (# 80, 120, 240, 360, 400, 600, 1200, and 2000) and then polishing with alumina suspensions of 1, 0.3, and 0.05 μm until achieving a specular mirror finish, cleaned in ethanol using an ultrasonic bath for 10 min, and washed with bi-distilled water. Anodizing was performed in 1:1 ethylene glycol/water in 1% v/v HF solution using a 25 V DC VOLT GP5003 power source with an Agilent 34410A digital multimeter signal recorder during 90 min at room temperature in a two-electrode cell, with a large area Pt wire as a cathode.…”
