The effect of wind load is one of the very significant factors in building and structure design. An investigation has been carried out into the wind effect on a Pentagonal cross-section with an open circuit wind tunnel. The experiment was conducted at a constant flow velocity of 13.2 m/s and a Reynolds number of 4.22 x 104. The test was carried out on a single cylinder positioned facing across the flow direction at various angles of attack from 0° to 72° at a step of 9°. Each face of a pentagonal cylindrical model was divided into five tapping points and connected with inclined multi-manometers using copper capillary and plastic tubes to measure the surface static pressure on the cylinder surface. Pressure coefficients were calculated from the measured surface static pressure, which was then used to estimate the drag and lift coefficients. A significant drop of 0.52 in the drag coefficient values has been observed for the single pentagonal cylinder in comparison to that of the single square cylinder. The overall lift coefficient values of the single pentagonal cylinder are found to be lower than that of a single square cylinder except at 90. The fluctuation of the lift coefficient curve has a 90 phase shift than that of the square cylinder; however, the pattern of their variations has shown a similar trend except for the angle of attack of 00. The stagnation point was identified on the front face of the pentagonal cylinder. These findings will assist engineers and architects in designing much safer buildings.

Due to the consideration of less angle of attack in the Airfoil, the previous studies didn't achieve accurate results on velocity and pressure of air fluid. Also, previous studies haven't taken into account both the coefficients of drag and lift forces at the same time. In this study, first-time we used the NACA 4412 (national advisory committee for aeronautics 4412) Airfoil because of its availability, lightweight, and flat bottom surface which prevents negative ground effects. Here the NACA 4412 Airfoil surface characteristics were studied through ANSYS Fluent laminar flow analysis as well as pressure-based ANSYS fluent solver. When we increased the angle of attack from 0º to 18º the coefficients of lift and drag forces increase gradually, which impacts the values of the velocity of the upper surface and pressure of the lower surface in the air-fluid. The coefficient of lift and drag forces on the airfoil's surface were 0.44 and 0.5, while the velocity and pressure at the surface are 80.5354 ms -1 and 2.12 × 10 3 Pa respectively at a 16º angle.

In modern architecture, irregular geometries have become increasingly popular. However, when designing tall buildings, it is crucial to consider the impact of wind loads, which can cause dangerous torsion if the plan geometry is irregular. To properly assess wind loads, it is necessary to analyse them during the design process. One way to mitigate wind loads is through aerodynamic modifications. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of different aerodynamic modifications on various shaped models using computational fluid dynamics simulation software called ANSYS. The modifications include chamfered and recessed corners, as well as Y-shaped and tapering forms. The study examines coefficients of drag and lift, as well as the dynamic behaviour of the models. Material changes are also evaluated. The findings highlight the importance of considering wind loading in the design and analysis of high-rise structures. Ultimately, this research can help improve the safety and design of high-rise buildings located in areas prone to high wind speeds.
