Effect of temperature on the propylamine transferase from Sulfolobus solfataricus, an extreme thermophilic archaebacterium

Abstract: The thermal stability of propylamine transferase from Sulfolobus solfataricus, an extreme thermophilic archaebacterium, has been characterized thermodynamically by a Van't Hoff analysis. Conformational transitions induced by guanidine hydrochloride, as well as by temperature, have been linked together in a scheme involving six equilibria, which arise from both dissociation and unfolding.
