Effect of temperature on galloping of iced conductors

Abstract: This article investigates the effect of temperature on galloping of iced conductors, accounting for the influence of sagging and geometric nonlinearity. By extending Irvine’s cable theory to thermo-elasticity problems, an analytical model is proposed to evaluate the effect of thermal stress on galloping of transmission lines.
