Effect of tacrolimus and cyclosporine A on suppression of albumin secretion induced by inflammatory cytokines in cultured human hepatocytes

Abstract: These findings suggest that IL-6, but not IL- 10, may play an important role in the suppression of hepatic albumin secretion. FK506 but not CSA protects against the suppression of hepatic albumin synthesis caused by IL-6.

“…According to our secondary outcomes, the results indicate that significant differences in the levels of 24 h UP and serum albumin at the follow-up visit of 6 months. The underlying mechanism may be attributed to the protective effect of TAC on hepatocytes and its inhibitory effect on interleukin-6, which reduce the secretion of hepatic albumin [20]. During the 18month period of treatment, Scr did not wave which is different to previously reported studies [9,21].…”

“…Elevated IL-6 is correlated with poor survival of lung cancer (30). It is also known that IL-6 inhibits albumin synthesis (31). It is possible that pretreatment mGPS may be a prognostic factor in patients with early-stage NSCLC, because mGPS reflects the systemic status of patients with cancer.…”

“…Our finding agreed with a previous study (16). The underlying mechanism might be the protective effect of TAC on hepatocytes and its inhibitory effect on interleukin-6; both actions decrease hepatic albumin secretion (27). …”
