he neurological auditory pathway starts from the spinal ganglion in the cochlea and extends to the auditory cortex in the temporal lobe. M Ma a-t te er ri ia al l a an nd d M Me et th ho od ds s: : In this study, 35 high-risk premature and 35 healthy newborns with a corrected age range of 0-6 months were included. The wave latency and amplitude values in the auditory brainstem response (ABR) test of 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz using the narrow-band chirp stimulus were compared in these two groups. R Re es su ul lt ts s: : V-wave values obtained from all infants were obtained at the highest amplitude (0.58 µV) at 90 dB at 1000 Hz and the shortest latency (3.73 ms) at 90 Hz at 2000 Hz in healthy newborn. There was no significant difference between V wave latencies with regard to gender. In our study, as a result of V wave latency and amplitude measurements obtained in comparison of high-risk premature and healthy newborns, a statistically significant difference was found between all frequencies (500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz) and narrowband chirp stimulus between the two groups. Modelo do estudo: Estudo transversal e comparativo. Objetivo do estudo Analisar os resultados do procedimento Potencial Evocado Auditivo de Tronco Encefálico automático comparando o tempo detecção de resposta utilizando os estímulos CE-Chirp® e clique. Levou-se em consideração as variáveis orelha avaliada, gênero, presença de Indicador de Risco para a Deficiência Auditiva e dias de vida do recém-nascido no momento de realização do procedimento. Metodologia: Participaram do estudo 20 recém-nascidos com idade média de cinco dias de vida. A análise estatística foi realizada empregando o teste Wilcoxon e teste U de Mann-Withney. Resultados: Os resultados demonstraram que o procedimento quando realizado com o estimulo CE-chirp® apresenta respostas mais rápidas que o estímulo clique. Observou-se que o tempo de detecção de resposta para crianças com Indicadores de Risco para a Deficiência auditiva é maior em ambos estímulos. Não foram observadas diferenças estatisticamente significantes nas demais variáveis. Conclusão: O estímulo CE-chirp® é mais rápido que o estímulo clique, dessa forma, espera-se reduzir o tempo da Triagem Auditiva Neonatal, facilitando o diagnóstico e intervenção precoce da deficiência auditiva.
