The present work was carried out at Private Farm (The Experimental Farm of Sand Valley Company) at Ismailia, Ismailia Governorate, Egypt during 2017 / 2018 and 2018 / 2019 seasons to study the effect of foliar spray with NPK (15-15-15) fertilizer at 1 or 2 ml/l and amino acids at 1.5 or 3 ml/l on two cabbage cultivars (OS Cross and Landini ) grown under sandy soil conditions. The interaction between OS Cross cultivar and spraying with amino acids at 3 ml/l and NPK (15-15-15) fertilizer at 2 ml / l increased fresh weight of roots and stem, number of leaves / head and fresh weight of outer and inner leaves / head ,head yield/ plant , total head yield/ fed .and head diameter and circumference , followed by the interaction between OS Cross cultivar and spraying with amino acids at 1.5 ml/l and NPK (15-15-15) fertilizer at 1 ml / l with no significant differences with the interaction between Landini cultivar and spraying with amino acids at 3 ml/l and NPK (15-15-15) fertilizer at 2 ml / l with respect to number of leaves / head.

A study was conducted at central farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural university, Dhaka during the period of October, 2017 to March, 2018 to investigate the influence of starter solution and age of seedling on the growth and yield of broccoli. The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A: Four levels of starter solution as S0= 0% urea solution (control), S1= 1% urea solution, S2= 2% urea solution, S3= 3% urea solution and Factor B: Three levels of age of seedling as A1= 20 days of seedling, A2= 30 days of seedling, A3= 40 days of seedling. Application of the treatment influenced independently and also in combination on the growth and yield of broccoli. In case of starter solution, the highest yield (24.32 t/ha) was obtained from S2 (2% urea) treatment, whereas the lowest yield (13.21 t/ha) was recorded from S0 (0% urea) treatment. For three level of age of seedling the highest yield (20.75 t/ha) was obtained from A2 (30 days old seedling) treatment and the lowest yield (15.48 t/ha) was recorded from A3 (40 days old seedling) treatment. In case of combined effect the highest yield (26.91 t/ha) of broccoli was obtained from the treatment combination of S2A2 while the lowest (13.41 t/ha) was obtained from S0A3 treatment combination. Economic analysis revealed that S2A2 treatment combination was the best in respect of net return (3,24,890 tk) with benefit cost ratio of 2.5. So it may be concluded that 2% starter solution and 30 days age seedling was best for growth and yield of broccoli.

The present investigation entitled “Effect of different levels of PSB and organic starter solution on growth and yield of Broccoli” was conducted in the Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Science, Prayagraj (UP) During October 2021 to February 2022. The experiment was laid out in RBD with 9 treatments with 3 replications. The results revealed that 40ml/Plant PSB + 40ml/Plant Starter Solution TA41 (Diluted) performed the best in terms of days to Plant Height (30.56), Leaf length (46.86), Leaf width (16.71), Leaf Number (14.89), Days to initiation (49.5), Head weight (530 g), Head yield per plot (3.22 Kg), Head yield per hectare (14.6t/ha) and B: C Ratio (4.9). Therefore, 40 ml/Plant PSB + 40 ml/Plant Starter Solution TA41 (Diluted) is the best when compared to other treatments. As, the highest cost benefit ratio was observed in treatment 40 ml/Plant PSB + 40 ml/Plant Starter solution TA41 (Diluted) i.e., (4.9) which states that it is economically profitable compared to all other treatments.
