“…Fecal sialic acid content was measured in the present study as an indicator of changes in the intestinal mucosa that may be caused by dietary fiber. However, fecal sialic acid levels did not increase as a function of increasing the inclusion of dried apple pomace, as previously found by Sabchuk et al (2017) in a study on different fiber levels in dog foods.
