“…Javidani et al 73 found that solution heat treatment (SHT)deteriorated the microstructure of Al-Si alloys at 5250 ° C. The rate of solution heat treatment (SHT) process could control intermetallic Q and π-phases (Q-Al 5 Cu 2 Mg 8 Si 6 and π-Al 8 FeMg 3 Si 6 ) as thermodynamically stable or not. These intermetallic compounds dissolved or undissolved depends on Cu/Mg mass ratio variation above and below 2.6 and the percentage of Mg. Botelho et al 74 observed solidification parameters such as cooling rate and higher growth rate which influence AlNiBi alloy cellular and dendritic spacings. This Cellular morphology is close to the cooled casting surface as brittle intermetallic α(Al)+Al 3 Ni and Bi soft phase(β) droplets anchored α-Al observed along with inter-dendritic spacings.…”
