Effect of Soil Temperature and Depth of Planting on the Emergence and Development of Sorghum Seedlings in the Greenhouse1

Abstract: S ORGHUMS are of tropical origin and have long been known to germinate and grow best at relatively high temperatures. Both seeds and seedlings of sorghum are very sensitive to environmental conditions. Experiments are under way to determine the causes of seed rotting and seedling blights of sorghums and the soil temperature and other factors influencing them.
