The effect of hyaluronan on scar formation in ophthalmic surgery has been studied by Arzeno & Miller (1982), Kivalo & Raitta (1991) and Wirt et al ( 1992). In the study by Kivalo & Raitta hyaluronan 's effect on scar formation was evaluated by measuring the thickness of fibrous tissue under a subconjunctival silicone implant which, unlike the implant used in this study, was not connected with the anterior chamber.…”
