“…In a previous study that used the same tools used in this study, the mean self‐efficacy score of dialysis patients was 38.70 ± 11.10 (Mousa et al, 2018), which was higher than the score of 31.30 ± 13.47 reported in this study. In a previous study, a self‐efficacy efficiency improvement programme for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was highly effective in controlling the disease, preventing complications, reducing hospitalization costs and improving quality of life (Abedi et al, 2013). Further, a self‐efficacy promotion programme for haemodialysis patients was effective in reducing patients' weight gain and increasing their self‐efficacy (Aliasgharpour et al, 2012).…”

“…In this regard, Baghersad et al . [ 21 ] investigated the effect of self-care training program based on Orem's model on the behaviors leading to sexually transmitted diseases in vulnerable women. The mean scores of practice and behavior change in the subjects of their study immediately after and 3 months after the intervention were significantly higher than before the intervention.…”

“…The ability of the individual, if integrated with self-care demand, can facilitate the underlying factors, and does not hinder the demand, leading to self-care behavior ( 19 ). Baghersad demonstrated, that if the educational programs are planned based on needs assessment, the learners follow the educational materials, related to their problems, more seriously and it results in a notable behavior change in them ( 26 ). The results also suggest that self-care mean scores significantly increased following the intervention, depending on the individual’s perception of health value, its benefits, the obstacles and social support.…”
