“…VE deficiencies caused testicular degeneration in poultry (Todorovic et al, 2002), rat and hamster (Sidney et al, 1975) and resulted in a lower number of germ cells and a reduction in sperm production (Cooper et al, 1987). Wu et al (1973) and Wilson et al (2003) found deficiency of VE may lead to reproductive organ damage, such as degenerative spermatogonium, testicular damage and degeneration of the seminiferous tubules. In view of the above, VE can reduce the oxidative damage on reproductive organs and the effects of VE on reproductive efficiency have been described in several species.…”
