“…The fewer days to emergence (22.75 and 21.45) by were detected soaking in GA 3 followed by yeast extract (24.85 and 23.47) compared with the control (water) , respectively during both seasons of growth. Such promoting effect of soaking generally on speedy germination and early emergence may be attributed to the mobilize antioxidant enzymes which subordinate per oxidation in seeds which retain seed vigor causing earlier emergence (Saleem et al, 2014). Obtained results of soaking garlic cloves in GA 3 are in conformity with those found by Takagi (1990), Rahman et al, (2006 and2008) and Woldeyes et al, (2017) who stated that seedling emergence in garlic has been enhanced by cloves treated with GA 3 .…”

“…It has been reported that bitter gourd has low germination and field emergence due to thick coat and unfavorable environmental condition i.e., mildew during germination and variation in temperature (Peter et al, 1998;Saleem et al, 2014). Present research was conducted to investigate the effect of MF pre-sowing seed treatment on the germination, growth, and yield attributes of bitter gourd.…”

“…Bitter gourd grows in various tropical regions of the world i.e., India, Malaya, China, tropical Africa, Middle East, America (Kubola and Siriamornpun, 2008) and it is one of the most important summer vegetables in Pakistan as well. Generally, bitter gourd growing season in Pakistan and India is January to June and now-a-days, it is usually grown as an annual crop (Saleem et al, 2014). Optimum temperature of 25 À 28°C is required for the germination of bitter gourd seeds and in Pakistani region temperature remains high except short winter season.…”
