Effect of saturation temperature on the condensation of R134a inside an inclined smooth tube

Abstract: Highlights • Effect of the inclination angle on the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. • Condensation heat transfer coefficient increased with increasing mass flux and vapour quality. • Condensation heat transfer coefficient increased with the decrease in saturation temperature. • Pressure drop along the tube increased with the decrease in saturation temperature. • An optimum inclination-angle-region of −30 °< β < −15° was observed in the simulation.
