Effect of rare earth doping on optical and spectroscopic characteristics of BaZrO3:Eu3+,Tb3+perovskites

Abstract: This paper reports structural investigations of rare earth doped BaZrO phosphors synthesized by Solid state reaction technique with varying concentrations of Eu and Tb from 0 mol% to 2 mol%. The synthesized phosphors show enhanced variable emissions in the visible region corresponding to different hypersensitive electronic transitions of Eu and Tb ions. With cubic structure confirmed in XRD analysis, the FESEM images show uniform grain connectivity and homogeneity of prepared samples. The TEM micrographs of th… Show more

“…With the Tb doping, the main peak at 378 cm ‐1 is slightly suppressed. Meanwhile, a distinguishable broad peak of very weak signal appears in the range of 800‐1000 cm ‐1 , which is well‐known as the torsional stretching of the Tb‐O bond . Similarly, the Raman spectra of the Eu 3+ doped/co‐doped samples also show characteristic peaks of the Y 2 O 3 cubic structure.…”
