“…In the case of S 1 being 0, the cylinder model represents a unidirectional deposited part that is entirely deposited in the axial direction. It is now clear from equations (2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9) and (2-8) that the elastic modulus E 2 of the substrate determines the mechanical properties of the cylinder model.…”

“…6 A great deal of research has been done by scholars worldwide on 3D printing of CFRP. Ramesh et al 7 and Ramesh and Niranjana 8 investigated the effect of various process parameters on the 3D printing of fibre-reinforced composites.Hou et al have designed samples of variable stiffness structures and tested bending properties of the samples. Experimental results indicate that the flexural modulus and impact strength of a suitable variable stiffness structure are increased by 70% and 65% respectively compared to a homogeneous structure.…”

“…The strength limitation becomes even more critical for designing lattice structures that combine lightweight and high specific strength 5,6 . FFF of fiber‐reinforced thermoplastics offers an effective route to achieving the high strength and modulus needed for structural applications 7–9 . In this work, we experimentally investigate the performance of solid and lattice parts made of chopped carbon fiber reinforced polyamide (PA) to assess the feasibility of these novel structures for load‐bearing applications.…”

“…In the directed energy deposition process, the heat source is generally focused on the feedstock at the point where metal deposition occurs. G-Code controls the nozzle of the gun or tool in such a way that it follows a specific tool path around the object [6,7].…”
