Abstract:This study investigated the application of pressure on the superconducting properties of a thallium-based cuprate, namely Tl 2 Ba 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 9-δ (Tl-2223). The superconducting transition temperature (T c ) and the critical current density (J c ) were studied by applying~1 GPa of pressure. This hydrostatic pressure was applied in a piston-cylinder-cell (PCC), using Pb as a manometer and Daphne 7373 oil as the pressure transmitting medium. For estimating the J c , we used Bean's critical state formula on the … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
