Effect of Post-Heated Concrete Cylinders Repaired with CFRP Reinforcement

Abstract: This paper presents the experimental results of post-heated concrete cylinders repaired externally using Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) fabrics. Eighteen concrete cylinders of size 155mm x 300mm were exposed to different temperatures of 100, 200, and 300°C for 3 hours. Subsequently, the exposed concrete cylinders were naturally cooled down to room temperature and repaired externally using CFRP reinforcement. All these cylinders were tested to failure under axial loading. Results show that the residual … Show more

“…3 -Before and after photos of Dean's Brook Viaduct repair workThe latest innovation in terms of retrofit techniques is the use of FRP. Various research studies have been conducted to study the effect of FRP treatment on structure strength and overall structure recovery(Zuki et al 2013;Chagas et al 2016;Budhe et al 2017;Shahidan et al 2016). However, the effectiveness in terms of methods of wrapping and types of FRP used may differ depending on its application on different structural members(Masuelli, 2013).Previously, Haddad et al (2011) ferrocement, fibrous grout layers, and FRP sheets have been used as repair materials.…”
